MSF Basic RiderCourse
Get trained, get licensed. The FAST TRACK to motorcycle licensing!This 2-day licensing course helps students learn skills such as straight-line riding, shifting, turning, swerving and stopping (including making quick stops). Motorcycles are provided. Upon successful completion students will be given a MSF Course Completion Card, to present to the DMV to get the motorcycle license!
Benefits: Learn how to ride a motorcycle, test for the motorcycle license (free retest is included) and Course Graduate discounts such as receive up to 10% motorcycle insurance discount for 3 years, depending the carrier.
Course Highlights:
- "ePackage 1" eCourse: is a free, 5 hour mandatory online eCourse that must be completed at home within 30 days of the course start date. The eCourse access directions are included in the registration email.
- Training Hours: 10 hours of on-motorcycle training at a MSS location!
- MSF Course Completion Card can be redeemed at the New York State DMV for the motorcycle license!
**If only interested in MSF Basic RiderCourse:
- There is no guarantee that every student can operate a motorcycle and meet the course objectives in the allotted course time, even though it is a beginner course.
- Therefore, it is recommended, but not required, to prepare for the course by taking additional training such as a Private Lesson or Motorcycling 101 or a discounted Training Packaging!
- This additional training reduces the chance of being unsafe, being counseled out and leaving the course early. No refunds or rescheduling options are given to students who are counseled out.
- ESL Students: if English is your 2nd language, it is strongly recommended to bring a translator to the course. If you are unsafe due to language comprehension, there are no refunds or rescheduling, and the tuition is forfeited.
A Government ID:
Such as a Driver's License (Class A, B, C, D, DJ, or E), Driver's Permit, Motorcycle Permit, or Non-Driver Identification Card (NDID)- New York State DMV Regulations: To receive a motorcycle license, you must present a valid MSF Course Completion Card, a New York State Driver’s License, and a Motorcycle Permit. (The permit can be obtained after completing the course, allowing for a single trip to the DMV)
- Must have completed online "ePackage 1" eCourse-5hr which is only valid for 30 days prior to the course date
- Must be able to Ride a Bicycle
- Must wear Proper Riding Gear
